I am looking at buying a printer. It has to print onto CD's and good quality, however not break the bank. What would you suggest. One of my friends bought a Canon for +/- R1300 which doesn't print bad. What would you guys suggest?

AFAIK, it is the cheapest one that can print on CD's, the others are way too exspensive

Epson R200 / 220 - Buy a chip re-setter or continuous ink supply

Canon is OK - Cartridges are cheap and do not need a re-setter

Both printers however will stop working and go into maintenance mode (red and green lights flash) they will have to be serviced and re-set

The Epson should out-last the Canon as it has better technology in the head design

I have the Canon ip6000. Works like a charm. You'll be happy with any Canon Pixma printer with CD printing capability. I belive the ip4200 is considered entry level pixma these days.

I'll also reccommend a Canon IP4200 or IP5200. The IP5200 is just s faster model, but I read one review that mentioned better quality printing too, although it isn't spec'ed to be better.

I have to recommend the Canon IP 4200 , i have also have a epson but the cano with removable head is better, it also does duplexing (double sided printing)
