So I've been living in Germany for 6 months now, and I still can't judge on what is expensive and what is not, cause obviously if I do a direct conversion to rand a 100 euros is going to seem like a alot of money, but you have to take into account you are getting paid in euros here, so if you had to ignore the current exchange rate etc. what would you say is the real value of euros in rands? I know there is alot to take into account but just a rough idea, it's just for interest sake, if anyone who has lived in europe would understand maybe what I am going on about, but if I had to maybe give an estimate, i'd say 100 euro is equivalent to a 1000 rand if I had to think how far 100 euros go.

Well you just answered it yourself. How far does it get you? How much do you spend on monthly expenses and at what quality of life/(style). Very difficult to determine unless you've got something or someone else to compare it to.

Stupid question and stupid thread. At least he answered his own question. What a boring weekend.

Stupid for you but maybe not for others, because it's just a random subject matter just like many other threads on myBB that don't have any significance but can just make for a fun discussion, and judging by your other replies in other threads, you turn out to be quite the idiot tbh, cause you don't seem to have anything every worthwhile posting other than having a negative attitude towards everything, so if you don't have something worthwhile to say don't say anything at all, the community here is awesome, and you're just trying to be a douche.

How many Big Macs can you buy with 100E?

I never understand what being paid in the foreign currency has to do with how much it is worth to you.

Its not about how much you get paid or what the exchange rate is.

What is your cost of transport, accomodation and food. Entertainment and medical expenses follows.

Depends on which country you are in.

But definately if you are residing in Germany and you actually live life there and not just work and then rush home, watch tv and surf myBB then you should in fact be the best judge here as to how the cost of lifestyle compares to cost of lifestyle back home in ZA.

I always thought the Big mac index was flawed... sure it will give you sense but what about cars, housing, internet, clothing, groceries?
Plus I prefer Burger King :p

How much is Burger King?

We haven't opened our stores yet :(

I meant everything in general - rent, clothes, petrol etc
