What is rss

basically, if u use an RSS capable browser (eg. Opera), you can click on the little XML or RSS button on a site and a Newsfeed will then be added to your browser and you will get headlines pushed down to you.

You'll see an orange rss icon somewhere on one of your browser's tool bars (this page has one). Click it, subscribe to it and you'll get a bookmark to the latest headlines from that feed.

I use FireFox, which gives you live bookmarks. You get a link to each new headline in your bookmark drop down as it comes up. Use the livelink add on to enhance this. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2499

like what was said above except that the feed is not pushed to you you poll it every so often and pull the information.

Another nice use for rss is www.amatomu.com and many other sites.

If you have a site you register your rss feed with the site and they will display your headlines on their pages...

I got the RSS feeds to my K800i when I visited myadsl via the phone browser. You then save the RSS feed and you never have to visit the site again on your phone, just go to messages and check your RSS feeds. Update it to get the latest headlines and stories :D

Instead of refreshing constantly to see if content changed you only refresh the RSS which alerts you that there is new content available.

RSS is useful for discussions or news events.

It is also an abbreviation for "Really Slutty Strippers"
