What is the cause when a whole town is without ADSL?

Our whole town is down today. This isn't something new and happens more frequently these days, it also increases in the rain season and so on (it's raining today).

All the ADSL lines Sync fine, but no PPPoE connections can be made, it just refuses to connect with no specific error.

As I'm typing this, I just received an sms from a friend in the centre of Nelspruit, seems Nelspruit is completely down as well.

Is this a RADIUS server, or just plain Telscum being idiots?

Thanks,

tera

@ Tera - various reasons exists - but telkom will keep making excuses.

It seems that the main feed for your town is problematic, or have problematic equipment.

Thing is, I'm about 65km from Nelspruit, so it's not just us.

I think I should start creating flyers and show step by the procedure to get a refund for days when your ADSL is down and distribute them. That should be a wake up call to Telscum.

"We're heading off to cal-ifo-rn-i-a, to see if they got some internet over there. every last drop of internet is gone here. it's all dried up..."

<sarcasm>Thanks Mr. Telscum support person, I don't know where I'd be without you! :p ;) :D</sarcasm>

try pushing your RAM chips into their sockets... wait two hours and then reboot! :D

Call us back if there are still problems.

Do that - people should realize that they can get a refund :D
