What is the difference?

What is the difference , if I download a file from filehippo, it does not work, then download the same file from winrar and it works.

Both programs installed, but only the one from winrar site works.

I had the very same problem with VLC player some time ago.

I just downloaded winrar and vlc from filehippo and it didn't work .

If you on Telkom their transparent cache sometimes caches a broken version of the file.

Don't know if filehippo does this, but some download sites bundle crapware into the installer before making it available ("do you want to install McAfee"). If so, then the file you downloaded is not the same as the one from the original site. Maybe they broke something in the process.
