Nevermind... I managed to find it via a bit of Googling... It's called "Chayote" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chayote

Anyone know where they are sold in Cape Town and how to prepare them?

But no, I've never seen them here in SA and I've only ever eaten it in a soup, which was pretty forgettable...

Very bland and boring. It grows easily though.
