What is 'traffic shaping' ?

it means they throttle the flow of traffic, slow it down, create an artificial bottle neck.

for port shaping they'll slow down traffic not on certain ports and with packet shaping they'll inspect the packets you send and attempt to determine what protocol you're using (like torrents or whatever) and slow it down if it looks like a non priority protocol

slimothy is very correct, what telskum do is make it so http works fine but when it comes to p2p you get shaped, meaning your speeds will be really rubbish because your line has been prioritised for http and other traffic.

I see, i have an Allyoucaneat account, how are they with shaping ? i heard they do the same as Telkom ?

thanks for the help, appreciated ;)
