What is wrong with SA rugby?

I'm Afrikaans.... don't ya remember I'm thick. Therefor the license is mine. Hands OFF!!!

After the game against England, our rugby looks surprisingly good again.

I kept quiet all of last week - superstitious etc - in the fond hope that I could return this week and silence the "told you so" crowd, which I now do: please feel free to product any one of your hundreds of previous better coaches that has produced the grandslam. None. So PDivvy failed too. BFHD. Things are not as great as I would like them to be, make no mistake, but they are far from bad. I also do not understand the comment about politics and sport mixing. Is this still some whiny cry for a white coach or that PDV is just a BEE or something?

I pretty much agreed with Sandmann's early post. The biggest problem has been injuries to key players, none more so than Fourie du Preez. He is held in extremely high regard by all our opponents and even our biggest detractors in the international press. In all honesty our RWC chances depend more on him being available than the coaching staff!!

1 thing:
Fourie du Preez

If he recovers 100% from his surgery then we'll be ready for the WC. The Boks miss that man so much. He is the Spine in the Bok squad ;)

O and don't forget that little demon - Brussow

Funny how after one par game, everyone is thinking everything is ok. England was shockingly bad on the day and we were a bit better.

Shockingly bad or didn't know what hit them?

The pure physicality of the Boks is what stops most teams. In the wet of Scotland that was pretty much negated.

Our backline are playing out of position (or are new to the position) (or are just too small).

You guys must stop focusing on Fourie Du Preez. We all know he is good, but you cannot rely on him as our only scrumhalf. if he gets injured then who is next in line. PDV should select only 2 scrumhalves where he can develop them with the style of play with his flyhalves. We all know that some of our World Cup stars are injured. Now is the time to select your inform and upcoming players to be given a chance to show what they made of in the difficult overseas tour. our sa mentality will nver come right, we play our sportsman until their legs are gone. too old and out of form.

I'm not relying on him as our only Scrum-half. He has been the back bone in our attacks for the last 7*?+ years. The problems we're having on attack is because of the person who used to call these attacks are not there. When he's back the springbok attacks will be up to par again. That is not his fault or the fault of the team. He has been the only one driving for the last 7 odd years. We should not make the same mistake when he retires ;) We need 2 people for every possition and play them on rotation or atleast alternating tours to keep the guys all in a game mode.

Fact is Fourie du Preez is currently the attack planner in the Bok squad and he is not there.

Wahaha our 7's team looks like such ****. Reminds me of the Womans Rugby team. They seem to be playing worse than ever before.

Sponsors get to dictate who plays there is your problem ,back when rugby was still rugby and not paid thousands of rands per match , whe had more of a sport than today. Comercialism has killed the sport.

I'm talking with players such as naas botha, morne du plessis , now a days you get paid just to play in a match , wether you lose or win. To make matters worse they bring politics into our national sport and that is enough to demoralize any player.
The race card should be removed from the sport.
