All comes down to how much you can spend.

PC is the only platform right now where (with the right hardware of course) you can have 4K/144 gaming or pathtracing, but PS5 has some really good exclusives albeit at higher prices.

The PS exclusives take years and arrive more unoptimized than one would expect.

On PS5 it's convenient to get stuff like GTA 6, Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei, Intergalactic and Wolverine on Day 1 with stable performance.

Most PS games run amazingly, probably 99.9% of them if you're happy with a 30fps Quality mode.
Just some Japanese studios with titles like MH:Wilds and FF that run like crap on every platform.

If you want to see what unstable actually is, try some new NVIDIA drivers. Or some UE5 games.
 
I am a casual gamer, so a gaming PC is not worth the cost for me.

I went..PS1...PS2...XBox360...PS4

My deciding factor for going XBox360 iso PS3 was the "Superman Returns" game that was exclusive to the 360. Turned out to be an aweful game that I never finished. Reverted back to PS, because of PSVR.

I've never bought a new console in my life. Brand new consoles are too expensive for me. I wait a year or two after the new consoles drops and start looking for a bargain. By then, there are also a decent library of games. I also rarely buy games on release no matter how I am burning to play it. I wait for games to become cheaper before I get them.

I have my PS2, XBox360 & PS4 all set up in my games room. My PS1 also stil works. I still use all of my consoles. And I am still hapily playing my PS4, so don't have a current urge to buy a PS5. When GTA6 eventually comes out, and the reviews look good, I may get me a PS5.

Sounds like a PC would have been cheaper. Games are cheaper. And have more options.

Although the gap between console and PC release date is becoming smaller.

Games are not released in stable performance anymore. Not on any platform. But yes, PC is the worst.

Dunno. Got my PS1 around 1998. PS2 around 2002, Xbox 360 circa 2008 and PS4 around 2016. All 2nd hand, at bargain prices, and all of them still work. In the almost 30 years, I would have had to replace and upgrade gaming PC's quite a lot. I also never buy new games.

Thats the thing. You wouldn't need to maybe two or three times and then only the GPU to a GTX on the last upgrade and then it will tick for another decade. PC games have way better graphics options that the consoles, but if you happy with console like quality you only need to upgrade every 10 years. Specially now with upscaling.

Im not arguing which one is better, just saying that you upgrade consoles a lot more than PC's and console games are stupidly priced. It is nice for the living room though.
 
I already need a laptop for my work, so i bought a gaming laptop instead so I can use it for both.
 
Gaming PC. Always been my chosen platform. Have played on Xbox and PlayStation but just prefer the PC.
