I personally find French to be a bit overrated....and it is quite difficult to learn.

But I guess for an Afrikaans still much easier than German

I think Spanish isn't always given the status it deserves; the whole of South America except Brazil speak Spanish (oh and Spain of course). This creates (theoretically) many opportunities to apply the language. Of the three, I think Spanish is the easiest to pick up.

Afrkaans is like english arranged(sentence structured) dutch and once you get the hang of that learning german is easier apparently.

I still want to learn russian one day..

Which other languages do you master? If Afrikaans is one of them (especially if it is your mother language), then German is a prime choice. With English and German you have Europe around your small finger. Lucky me I guess And yes, I agree, the Romanian chicks are freaking hot, but there is where it stops. How about Hebrew?

good thing with french is that movies should have that as a selectable language combine that with music in french will help you a lot with a decent course teaching you da french.

If you dont use it, a language you learn later in life is easy to forget. So, pick one you're likely to actually use.

If you're staying in SA i'd say take Zulu.

I watched a lot of french porn with english subtitles and english porn with french subtitles, so I'm not THAT stupid when it comes to french. German is spoken in one half of my family (the half I don't get to contact often) and I understand spanish a little as well as several other languages.

just don't speak/read/write fluently in anything except afrikaans/english

2. ask If you may use the backdoor / exit
3. tell someone who's being followed by a bee to "turn around"
