What makes a great LAN?

Well there you have it, what makes your gaming lan so great at the end of a weekend?

A good mix of content and gaming.

I love it when you find a game that is simple to get setup, has the playability and is enjoyed by all.

That and getting hold of a series or similar that you have been wanting for a while.

Chaos in Unreal Tournament or group-questing in WoW

1. playing games that all their pcs can handle

2. Knowing your games well so that you can mod/fix etc to get the most out of them.

3. having uptodate antivirus to make sure nobody goes home with a virus

4. Host a dedicated server to increase preformance. Usually the fastest pc or the host can organise one

ROFL - well i partially agree, however my <18 lans were pretty sweet!

2. People who want to play the same thing. Blows if half the lan is playing DotA the whole night and the rest can't get together enough people for a fps.

(1)friendly ppl,most gamers is friendly but u do get exceptions.
(2)a lot of ppl - the more there is the better the lan is.(rage is a good example of it.)
(3)A Decent network.(good quality hubs,cables etc..)nothing worst then suffering with a bad network at a lan.
(4)a sponsored competition is also nice if possible it brings gamers 2gether.
(5) generators for power u never know with eskom.
