My MTN contract is up for renewal, and I need to choose what phone to get.
Right now I'm using a Samsung D600, which I like quite a lot.

I want to get a phone that is very compact, good looking, and with good features (a 2MP camera or better is very important).

At the moment I'm quite happy with getting a Samsung phone, but I'm open to ideas.

Any suggestions?

IMO you can't go wrong with SE. Whatever model ur upgrade will get you.

I still love my K750i after a year of very good use.

Regardless, I'd rather go for functionality over looks.

If I had to get a phone right now, it would be an HTC MTeoR. Wouldn't call it a brick, it's actually quite slim. Samsung is probably the only manufacturer that still puts and emphasis on camera and looks (which btw is a very outdated design now) and as a result is being left behind while other manufacturers include additional functionalities into their phones.

PS: HJ your K750 is a smartphone of sorts, so you agree that it's an over-rated brick? :p

also, what defines a smart phone as smart then exactly?

The W850i's got a bigger screen, 3G and comes with lots of storage. I'd say the best of the K750 with newer tech. and fresh look.

Go for the SonyEricsson flagship phone, my son - the P990i.

There is NO other phone on the market that can compare with it & will be able to in the foreseeable future. ;)

that the one with the touchscreen and the stylus?

Any new Sony Ericsson is great. I have a K750i and I'm very happy with it. :) Also, try to say as far away as anything which even remotely smells like a Samsung. Their software is just horrible. You've got a D600. You should know what I'm talking about.
