I only ask, because I've not gone outside of Khan Academy yet and they limit some of the codes so that you don't make mistakes and sometimes they help too much.

That and eventually I'm gonna have to study somewhere that doesn't use KA.

You mean using as in coding?

Atom, Brackets or VS Code should be fine.

Visual Studio and Brackets are my two favourites.

U can use notepad ++ its free. U can also try Sublime which many people are using,u can use it for free also it will prompt u to buy it,but they still let u use it. So if u like it after using it for a while u can buy it! I would say use sublime for now,but give them all a try and see what u like

Hehe I stayed up all night learning all I could.

I have played around a bit with notepad, notepad++ and VS Code.

But I still prefer Khan Academy's by far, real time updates are legit.

So far I find html/CSS a bit easier than Javascript, but only time will tell.

You can you can edit and save but it depends on your site If you are using mvc type libraries etc then no.
Simple sites like you are talking about you can do it all within chrome.

I'll advise against.

Go get sublime text, load wamp and then use chrome and Firefox for debugging
