Ok, so iBurst is being very smug and blocking my new modem until the previous owner cancels his account entirely. Its like buying a used vehicle and having the previous owner's financial house take the keys away from you until he cancels his finance with them, ridiculous. Did I mention these "rules" about devices are not anywhere in their policies or terms and conditions?
I've complained to myadsl, hellopeter, junkmail, bidorbuy, ISPA and ICASA, and so far only received comment from myadsl and an offer of assistance in proving the sale from junkmail.
iBurst themselves are completely disinterested and from what they've implied in my discussions with them they want to control the market by making sure everyone only buys devices new from them or their resellers, and only sells their devices back to them when they leave since there'll be no second-hand market and you can forget selling to the highest bidder.
I'm considering dragging them to the small claims court, but not sure enabling services is really under their jurisdiction. Does anyone have advice on what recourse is available here and which watchdogs do have a bite?
