Weird, because i was in a Telkom direct store this morning and they were giving a SIO customer their free router, which was the wireless gateway one which has a wireless router and a dect cordless phone included in the bundle. Very nice kit indeed.
I also got a "Mega 200VWR" with my SIO. I have seen at least one other person receive the 100 model without the VoIP ports though. You sure the customer you saw wasn't just buying a cordless phone while picking up their free router? I suppose it would be too much to expect them to bundle a cordless phone and a Skypebox (http://www.nanoelf.co.za/skypebox-p-289.html) seeing as they're trying to push their own VoIP product

Yeah it was definately a SIO cos i asked the guy, the router model wasnt displayed on the box like the mega 100 and 200 and it was a dect gateway too with the cordless dect phone included in the box. Was just wondering because most people were getting the mega 100 or 200 a few days ago....

Just got mine today, its also the "Telkom cordless gateway" so its the adsl router with wifi and dect cordless phone included. Quite nice actually cos you only have to plug one phone line in and it does the the rest.
Its an Inventel and it seems to be manufactured/supported by 2C telekoms

I got someone to pick up my free router from Telkom today (since I'm at work all day
) and I'm wondering if I got the wireless gateway or the 200W... all I know is that it's in a big orange box.I kinda hope it's the gateway, because the cordless phone could be nice - but then I'd have a Netgear DG834PN sitting around not being used.

It was in a big orange box, but then again the Mega100 and Mega200 come in big orange boxes too. The DECT handset is pretty cool tho, but then i have to wonder if its better than the siemens gigaset I now have lurking on my desk...

Well the Zyxel definitely didn't come with the phone and it didn't come in an orange box either. Damn! I could have scored a phone. Zyxel router seems worth it though...so far.....

Seems like they give you what they have in stock at that moment. I also Needed that gateway!!! Got the 100WR, cause they only had those in stock.
So call them, if they only have modem X instock at that moment, the chance that they will be giving you that one...is 99.9%

Turns out I got the Mega 200... it's okay, I don't really need a cordless phone. But it is odd (and seems a bit unfair) that there's such a wide range of stock being handed out.

Its possible that they get the cordless set, but i definately didnt order that, in fact i only ordered the line, Im not even using Telscum as an ISP.

Nope. A week prior to my ADSL order I went and threw around a few questions at my Local Telkom shop so that I would be able to properly compare Telkom's ADSL Offer with the thousands of other ADSL offers (SNO/TNO/FNO/etc) in competitive SA
The kind woman that helped me, informed me that you get a free modem with SIO, then she looked up, and pointed at the Gateway and said "(in Afrikaans)"At the moment the modem you get is that Wireless Gateway with a set of cordless phones as we do not have sufficient stock of the other ADSL Modems"".

Thanks, then I'm going to wait for them to give that one away for free then. I have 2 DSL routers anyways so I don't really need one just looking for the best value.
