What should I do with my life?

Thus far, almost 32 years into it. I still have no clue.

"Do what you like" hasn't cut it for me. I start out but never follow through (get bored/frustrated/whatever)

So I want to hear your suggestions as to what you think I should do with my life. Anything is achievable and the question has been on my mind for a while. Thus far, not having really "lived" my life, I start to question the motivation behind what drives others to live their lives the way they do.

It was easy (I suspect) in the past with my dad's generation. Get a job (you hated or loved, doesn't matter), get married, raise kids and chill in your spare time. But none of that seems viable or feasible to me right now.
 
Me too. I get bored with things easily and the things i DO enjoy i can't really use as a money making path.

things that i did get excited about end up being shot down or hijacked by other people :p
 
OP what ARE you currently doing? You make it sound like you have the option/privilege to just do anything you want?

I read somewhere that you should love what you do, to the point where you'd get out of your car in a traffic jam to run to get there on time or invest in something that you'd climb to a second floor window just to peek at. i don't believe in destiny but sometimes people just end up being so well suited for some things.

but on that note, the community started annoying me. better to do something on your own and lead your own path. and don't read too much into that :p

I guess nobody on this forum can tell you what to do, you would have to figure that one out yourself.

What do you currently do? What have your tried an given up on? Maybe dont do those again LOL.
 
I guess there must be a blessed coterie of individuals who know what they must do from the day they leave the womb. I reckon most of us stumble forwards, only figuring out what we want by trying everything that we can do, or that comes across our path. I'm really not clear where I want to be in 5 or 10 years but because I've had a number of working years, I at least have a general idea by now. I'm not looking to be utterly fulfilled by my job for that matter; it's a means to an end. My happiness is derived elsewhere.
 
I think people over complicate things. Life is not as wonderful as people make it to be. You get stressed, angry, happy, sad.....rinse and repeat.

As long as you get laid. It is all good.

Sadly some people can't get laid ...so it must be all bad for them :whistle:

That is what makes life so great though.

You should become a handyman acid, done now get started.
 
Do what you love and you'll never have to work another day in your life - of course I didn't manage to figure that out until much later on in life :o

Unfortunately that doesn't work out for all cases though. Or should I rather say some cases need to be realistic.
