So I can upgrade tomorrow. . . only problem is I have no Idea what to do. So far it's between waiting for the 5800 or getting a N81. I really don't know. I'll mostly be using my phone for multimedia, a little bit of typing and the nomal phone things. What do you guys think I should do? Any other phone you guys think I should get, or should I wait? I prefferably want it before the 5th of Jan.

u really just need to stake a peg in the ground and decide on a unti 100%, then focus on finding stock and get it. If u want the 5800, wait for it, its going to be another 2 months or so, based on what I've seen. Dont hold your breath, just be patient and ignore the forums until it comes out.

Then once it does come out, you will hear about the latest phones about to hit the shelves and you wont want the 5800 cause it will be crap :(, Thats how I've been going now for 2 years!!!! UNTIL NOW, and I made up for it cause I'm getting 3 new phones. A bit overdoing it and I will proably end up selling 1 or 2 of them and cancel the contract with the money I get from the phone sale. :)

The N85 is a beauty! Touchscreen is not all its made out to be. I have 2 touch screen devices and the novelty has worn off. The 640x360 resolution of the 5800 must look amazing though. Personally I would go for the N85 right now and use it as a wireless modem to browse the net on my iPod touch (nothing beats Apple's Safari browser) but its a close call.

If the n85 is available and if you dont mind carrying two devices, this is actually a really good suggestion.

IMO there really is only a few choices

Xperia
Omnia
N85
BBold

These are rated top smartphones, make a list of what u want the phone to do then match the device. Then u decide on a unit, u join the rest of us stock-hunting and gnashing teeth in frustration cause no one knows what u talking about

A basically want a multimedia smartphone, but I tpye quite a bit though.
I need 3.5mm jack
Decent screen
Ok camera
Wifi
Gps would be nice

anyone of these would suite u perfectly, except that the N85 doesnt have any native qwerty KB option

Qwerty isn't really important to me, I'm used to teaching my phone to use predictive text then use it like that.

then u have to gte more specific with your likes and dislikes, the list u gave is too general to make a good decision.

I have the Omnia, N82 and got a BB, I can give a very good comparison if u tell me what u like or hope to have in a phone

Ok I want a phone that can multitask, usually I use my phone to use mxit, play music and browse the web at the same time. The phone mustn't be slow (N70 classifies as slow), it must have a 3.5mm jack, I want to be able to connect to a wireless adsl modem using my phone and if it is possible plug the phone into the pc, connect to the modem and browse the intenet from the pc. I'll watch a few full movies on my phone so I would like a good screen, the phones sound quality should be able to rival a mp3 player. I preferbly want a relativley good looking phone. I only use the camera about 10-20 times a month. I don't need voice navigation with the gps, just being able to see it will be fine ( I'll only use gps to fool around anyway). I'd like bluetooth a A2DP support. I'm not sure what a navi-wheel does but it sounds cool. I spend about 1-4 hours a day typing on my phone.

ok that makes the list easier to compile
you say u data type 1-4 hrs a day, thats quite a bit, I seriously think u should consider qwerty or touchscreen KB, typing is a lot faster and more pleasant. U can also go into VC 4U shops and especially Vodaworld, they got real units on display to touch and play with.

if i were u, I would wait for the 5800, its a MMedia device with a kick ass screen, which will satisfy all your requirements. I also find theres a lot more software around for Symbian, than WinMo devices. Seriously, 5800, is the one!

Thanks, I was thinking 5800 or N85

u wont believe it, but u can get so much cracked Symbian stuff. I just found an Omnia forum, everyone actually pays for their apps :) I'm both shocked, disgusted and impressed all at the same time :) Its actually part of their forum rules NO WAYS!!!

Could you maybe PM me where I could find some *cough* cracked *cough* symbian apps.
