I was going through the Sentech site and could not find any indication of what speeds are available. I realise that the actual speeds range from slow to VERY slow, but was suprised that there is absolutely no mention of speeds, especially seen as there used to be a bunch of packages based on speed of connection.

How do the speeds work now?

(BTW: no need to convince me to avoid joining Sentech, quite happy with my iBurst connection)

I dunno. I'm still on 128k but what I can say is that my connection is rock solid and I'm getting my full 128k's worth (16K per second) on a consistent basis.

Yeah, that's cause iburst took the rest of the users and now they are sitting with issues. I'm not joking though, I seriously think that's what happened ;)

I agree - I was getting disconnected very often and had problems with international up until the point where everybody started to pack up and leave. Now that many users have moved over to ADSL and IBurst, my connection is working flawlessly. Also, I'm still on the R499 10 gig 128k package with No-Wire.

It's a shame that users have to leave for the service to get better, rather than Sentech upgrading their network and continuing with their Classic package.

Speeds have been great for the last two months. My DL for last month was 17.794 GB and UL of 9.680 GB and I haven't had a disconnections in a long time
I guess , as some are saying , its because the contention ratios have dropped :)

well im definitly not coming back...

i found a use for my sentech modem and atenna.

... someting like a voodoo doll :P

hehe owell.

Allegedly the MyWireless Flexi packages are 256kbps download. However, resellers were advised NOT to discuss specifics of speeds due to the fact that users were often getting MUCH less than they should have, resulting in discontentment. Furthermore, for some users, lack of understanding meant that they got upset with 16KB on a 128kb line - Bytes and Bits issue. So speeds are not really discussed anymore!

Well, that's excellent reasoning! So, now they can provide any speed they like...
