What Spider is this? (Yes another one)

So this little guy gave my sis a good skrik, good thing her bf was here, or he'd be screaming lol :D
So on the danger scale (harmless)1-10(omfg it rips you limb from limb) what would this little guy/girl be rated as?

It's a rain spider. They're harmless. Although they can give you a nasty bite if provoked enough, but they usually try and run away. danger scale 1 because of the size of their fangs :)

Palystes superciliosus (In other parts of the world they call the Palystes spp. Huntsman spiders). The females are particularly aggressive when protecting their eggs and makes an audible high pitch sound. Their bite however is comparable to a bee sting.
 
So generally I shouldn't be to worried about them?... Actually woke up this morning with a little one next to me on my bed, at less than half the size of this one.. They kinda cute
 
Spiders often drink the fluids from your nose at night. Beware the bite.
 
Just watch out for recluse spiders / violin spiders :eek: apparently they also common and often mistaken for little harmless cutseys :)

I could have SWORN one hissed at me the one time. Massive, sitting on her egg sac. Terrifying. You know how ****ing far they can jump as well. *shiver*

Cool spiders though.
 
how big do these things get?
im sure i had one of those at my front door, but it was the size of my hand!
its very disturbing when the spider runs away and u can hear the bricks/rocks move as he squeezes past them.
 
I have those in my house every year around this time. Saw one about that size 2 nights ago. I always just throw them back out of the house, never harmed me. But one did fall on me once, quite terrifying!
 
Aaah yes the one's thats usually found in my house after heavy rain the previous evening is usually 15-20cm in width including legs (size of a big man's open hand).

I've found that to be VERY true - but the high pitch sound is usually not coming from the spider but the other female in the house...
