Ok so if you want a new job, but you happy with the company that you in, but would like to move to another department/sector of the bussiness.
Internal applications is one option.

Is there other ways? risky and non risky, even extreme measures of moving.

How does one do it?

I did it recently via internal applications.
Make friends with HR, if they like you, they will cut corners for you.

I was very unhappy in my other position but loved the company, so they created a whole new position for me in another department.

Wow thats exactly what I would like.
I have to network with the HR ladies.

Any tips on how you did it, like the steps you took. Theres a particular department where I think i will be best suited, but there are no vacancies there.

You could try the sly approach:

Kill one of the employees in the department and then apply for the position

Remember, only YOU can CREATE the opportunity for yourself

Good luck

lol @ Acid.

Isn't there an internal jobs process in your company? Can't you just follow the process? Even if you find 'other' ways to do it surely the process for internal vacancies is there to be used and is fair etc.

Bypass HR and talk to the HOD of the department you wish to work in. Get to know others in that department as well. Most important is to make your intentions clear to the HOD from the outset - dont BS!

There is, but not for the positions I want. Not yet qualified enough to be a manager of HOD.
