Right, my cap usuage is 3.11 GB.....OUF OF 3GB.

Now, I know they are not hard capping, but my speed is exactly the same...the p2p network is goign abnormally fast, my ubuntu linux download aswell....everything is just TOO perfect...i smell a rat!

Is Telkom charging extra for this, because I don't recall hearing anything about it.
 
it was a scare tactic i suppose :) worst that could happen is you run up 80GB traffic, get billed for it, cannot pay for the usage, get blacklisted and have your line disconnected. not the end of the world :)

but knowing Telkom, they dont know or care...
 
I am just worried....they can't do that...it says so in the contract...it MUST! I will be murdered if that happens...just my luck! Just when I get ADSL...this happens.
 
Yip at the moment, Telkom ADSL seems to be doing some pretty strange things. No one here seems to know what's been going on and from the looks of things, Telkom don't either. I've downloaded 22.60GB (more than this - but Telkom stats usage doesn't count further than this for me) on my 3GB cap account and my torrents and P2P apps are still working fine.

I've searched everywhere on the Telkom site about a slight mention of this and the only thing I can come close to is something mentioned about a share-cap between users (which doesn't make sense to me).

Another thing that makes me realize that they can't bill for this is that lately Telkom phone you if you bill exceeds R2000. You then have like a few days to pay it off. I have not recieved any phone call as my bill should be way over R2000.

Something is not right in the land of Telkom ADSL...
 
When I get the phone bill, I will be convinced. Until then , i am goign to try and stay on the low side of 5 gigs, just to experiment.
 
Wise decision. Internet is like a drug for me, as long as I know there is unlimited bandwidth, I just can't help myself, no matter how hard I try. Someone, please help me....:)
 
So to me, but I know where to draw the line...sometimes. muahahahaha.

My website can become a pain to manage at the internet cafe if they cut me off...
 
I've also had some strange events this month,First I recieved emails each day telling my usage and my usage stayed on 1.49 gig for a week or two,then suddenly jumped to 5 gig then stayed there for a few days and then jumped to 9,With me still not being capped in any way... :S
 
I must be over 30GB now, but my usage stats froze at 22.30GB a few weeks back - hasn't move since then.

My usage stats from Telkom froze at around 650MB a few weeks back and hasn't moved since, but my usage stats from SAIX is sitting at around 1.5GB or so.
