A routing table problably went fubar, dont worry. I'll be sure to let them know so they can fix it and get things back to normal ASAP ;)

Agreed, 180 international is a dream, 120 is a wet dream. even if something went wrong, it means there is potential for great international pings , and now that we know it is possible [:)] we can nag them to improve the pings [:p]

Ok, I will take a pair. My polarised sunglasses broke the other day, so I need a new pair. Do u need my address to post it or will u deliver personally.[:D]

Ok, it seems to me the fellow posting here normally gets a ping of about 430 on international servers and he is chuffed as now he is pinging 120 and previously the best ping he has ever had before was 180. Well thats they way I read it.
Seems very good, wireless seems to be a real alternative to ADSL even for gaming. Time will tell.

Um, no not really because your local ping is also like 180, so thats not so cool for gaming :P

International pings should infact be in the order of 180ms... (thats like what I get over the actual cable end to end.)

Hmmmm. That would be a problem. We would need a decent ping to karoo otherwise I will stay with ADSL for the moment. My kids and Nephews would be dissapointed to say the least. But on the other hand the ping to Karoo isnt that good on ADSL anyway as I have been told that the line is routed to Joburg first and then back to Cape Town. My ISDN friends get a ping of 20 to 40 to karoo whereas the best I have seen is 50, but normally 70 or higher is the norm.

I wish I could just test the Wireless Hardware so that I could make an informed decision. Im not going into it like I did with ADSL. I bought ADSL on a dream. Not again. I want facts.

i've had had crappy speeds all weekend

can't even get 4 kb/s internationally and i'm on a 512k!

its simple... ive been given all the bandwidth and best routing for the weekend, just coz im a nice guy and didnt swear at any sentech helpdesk people when i applied for my wireless. i have to give it all back on monday morning though, i'll drop it off at sentech around 9, sorry guys if ive messed up your weekend.

I have a MyWireless with an external ant. Ping times 100ms and on a 128k - I can stream audio from winamp in the states, surf the net and download mail. Everthing seems pretty fast. Am I the only one? It seems everyone else is quite unhappy with MyWireless?

this weekend has been crap dude

i tried downloading winamp for instance, couldn't get more than 40kb/s (and this is with a download manager which usually give me 70kb/s)

plus, I'm streaming from a SOUTH AFRICAN site, and I ****ing get buffering all the time

*mumbles something about paying 2.4k this month for ****all*

noone, maybe someone is sharing your 512k ?
Oh, and a couple of days ago, trying to bust q3 open I got a virus [:D] (dumb ass) and I was sharing some bandwith with allot of advertising companies.

Anyways, when you get low downloads like that, download something from IS, just out of interist, to see what your top speed is there.
Even though, I think they cap you or somethign, cause there I only get like 10kb/s though :/ weird, but download manager fixes that.
Like ... download freebsd or linux or something.

i dont share nothing dude, trust me, my firewall doesn't allow for things like that

all i did was a modem reset and it seemed to fly again

Yeah online gaming sux with MyWireless any server pinging more than 60 imho just sux for competitive gaming the lag just gets to frustrating.

Got no problem whatsoever with plain surfing and downloading. Find that my VPN times out a lot or just dosnt want to connect luckily that is not mission critical.

It would have been nice to have a compleet working package though[V]
