a call to the xperts...
I recently upgraded my pc and installed a MSI 975X Platinum MOBO with Intel Pentium 4 920 CPU (from CyberDyne - tnx JUGGY). All in all a great set. I needed a PCI-E graphics card (budget level) and got a great deal on a GeForce 6600. Great for my needs. Except that I cant install the drivers....
Possible problem?? MSI provides a couple of utilities such as PCAlert4 to check my system and I noted that my 12V are measured at 5,2V. My first reaction was to check the required power requirements for the setup and noted that my PSU was a 350W whilst at least 450W was required. So, upgrade to a 480W.
Result - no go, my 12V still measures as 5,2V.
Everything looks fine otherwise, except, I cant install the graphics drivers... When I do, they install to a certain point and the PC freezes. Or rather, the screen freezes. After a while the PC does a "memory dump" and reports a problem with a file "NV4 something something". If I don't install the drivers the screen flickers and does not scroll smoothly but jumps.
Any Ideas???? Power should be ok. Tried downloaded drivers instead of cd.
WHAT?? O, and now my wireless mouse keeps freezing and I constantly need to "re-mate" it with the transmitter....
ANY IDEAS???????
