Go into low areas - level 20 and just give people 20 gold at a time. Trade, give gold, complete. If it's not an alt, they go balistic.
I don't see the point in hording gold, all you do is take it out of the economy. Better to spend it on things, mounts, gear, etc. You can buy some level 264 stuff for alts.
