i want to know what i need to do to start racing,i am really into historic races,but i just wanna race,just not sure what to do,anybody know what to do

Firstly I think you need to be able race... then secondly I think you need to build yourself a project car with a roll cage, etc... then if you can fast enough, you should get sponsors to help you enter into the a series, if you have the money, I guess you can sponsor yourself... but it costs a lot for one season...

My recommendation would be to start with carts. Build up some experience with low weight, rear-wheel drive vehicles and in the process build up a name for yourself. Sponsors will notice you if you're any good and you'll move up the ranks to eventually race in the class you prefer.
We have a race car driver on the forum, just cant remember his username...
How much does a cart cost? can I just take my cart to Kyalami and have a spin?
A friend of mine can get one quite cheap, we used to race at the Blue Valley golf estate couple years ago, but now theres to many houses and there little security guy in the Polo is a bit of a cow and doesnt allow us to use the roads.

Like boodles said. Buy a kart and start particitpating in the regional championship to gain experience etc.

You can a second hand kart there for a good price, and they normally come with lots of extras....which you're gonna need.
Then you need and Motorsport South Africa licence to compete, and you need to join a karting club. Either Zwartkops or Vereeniging.
I was a member at both.....it's saves you lots in the long run......because you need to practice a lot to be competitive. Contact Neil Curtis at Kartshoppe....they're in Randburg. He'll set you up.....
