Im currently on Cybersmart's 384kb uncapped, unshaped offering using 50-60Gb monthly and not likely to need more than 100Gb. Surfing at this speed is frustrating and Im attracted to the 512K (4Mb is more than I want to pay) offerings of Mweb and Afrihost. Do I change (knowing that the Cybersmart offer as I have it is no longer offered) or wait until the dust settles and then decide? Also, while some people are complaining about the shaped services at Mweb, Afrihost, Im sure the speeds are never quite as slow as the 40Kb on the 384kb line that I get anyway ( and yes, I know thats good for a 384kb line).
Any thoughts?

There were some speed tests done of the new MWEB offering. Can't remember what they gave for 512K, but if I remember rightly their 4M numbers were OK. Something else, not too relevant to your particular query, but I'm about to cancel with Cybersmart. They seem (in my view) more keen to support Telkom than their customers.

512k is quite poor in value-for-money terms. You may be paying more than you want to for 4Mb, but at least you won't be getting ripped off quite as badly.
