What to do when home alone.

What have you guys done when you were home alone? I'm looking for ideas on entertainment.

A couples of weeks ago my SO started a job working away from home. None of our friends or family are single (besides the young ones) and I don't want to impose on them too much. But, there is only so many PC games, shopping, etc to do until threshold is reached.

What to do, what to do, what to do?
 
Garden, pets, fish, knitting or in other words

get a hobby.
 
Step 1 ) Find the following book : How to be Idle by Tom Hodgkinson

Step 2 ) Read book

Step 3 ) Practice

It takes dedication and time to perfect, but its very rewarding :)

I'm busy doing nothing,
Working the whole day through.
Trying to find lots of things not to do!

Clean the house. Wash the car. Go out for lunch. Make the food. Go food shopping. There, it is 10.30 and time for bed
 
Pray a little or a lot.
Check "something" on the net, something will lead to something else and that in turn to something else.
 
Appreciate all the suggestions so far but is there anything you guys do that's a bit more adventurous, rather than the boring, mundane stuff...alone?
 
Parachuting ? The sky is the limit !

What age are you ? What about birding, the clubs go out in groups ?

Note : I started scuba diving when I was in your position.

Fear of heights so parachuting is out. Scuba diving sounds good. Early 40’s not too old to start?
