What to do when moving

I am probably moving in April 2015, what should I so with my DSL account and phone line... With Telkoms usual speed it'll probably be a month before I am officially reconnected. Do I just cancel everything and re-open?
 
You can request them to move the line. AFAIR you dont need to pay for the re-installation fee.

Be sure to let Telkom know at least a month in advance.
 
I had them transfer my line to my new place when I moved but I didn't move all that far from where I was staying before. I'm not sure if both addresses have to be on the same exchange or not but they told me that distance could be a factor. My total down time was about six days doing it like that.
 
Moved in January from Pretoria north to Pretoria east.

Phoned telkom at the end of november to let them know I was moving, and the technician was scheduled for the day after my move. ADSL was up and running that day, although there was already a phone line from the previous tenant installed.
 
Problem comes in when you don't know your new address yet. Thanks for advice all
