What to do with old and broken tech?

I have a bunch of cords, four old smartphones and random gadgets like a microphone etc lying all over the house. Some of them have been taking up space for years.

Is there any service that will come and collect them? Not really interested in money tbh, getting rid of them is more important but I'd prefer to not pay for transport if I'm giving them away for free.

Do we actually have a Freecycle thread here? You never know, maybe the item II'm tempted to throw in the bin could be useful to someone else.
 
There is a municipal dump in Wynberg, Cape Town. There are a group of guys there who like electronic junk. They recycle most stuff so its not wasted
