Seems my trusty old MBox2 is not compatible with El Capitan anymore. It's been due for an upgrade for a while.

I used it mostly to drive my Yamaha HS50's and need something similar. Not too fazed about included software as I'm already rigged with what I need.

Any suggestions that won't break the bank too much?

Are you looking for a DAC or DAC|AMP? (Do you trust the neutrality of your HS50's AMP?)

If it is just a DAC, then go for an ASUS Xonar for minimal fuss. If you want an ultra high quality DAC, try a Mayflower Objective 2 DAC (a pain to import but fork me it is the best DAC I've ever used).

As for a DAC|AMP you may want to use a bigger setup - the guys here recommended one of those units in the internet radio thread. I can't remember the make or model but everyone was saying it is an awesome unit.

Thanks agentrfr!

I do trust my HS50's. I listened to a couple of monitors before deciding on them.

Just looking for a DAC that's compatiable with El Capitan for now.

Edit: Looking for a device that has TRS connections, as my conection currently run TRS to XLR at the HS50's
