For the last maybe 1 and a half months, my vodacom 3G is so bad, that I cancelled my 1Gb bundle out of pure frustration. I don't know what the reason for this is and multiple calls to customer care is still not going anywhere.
I spent hours in the past week trying out other configurations on my Linksys 3G router, even installing the latest firmware from the linksys website, but no luck.
I finally resorted to using the manual connection for my 3G connection only. If only this worked, I would have been ok. All I get is a message that my datacard is connecting. Eventually, the datacard gives up and spends the rest of its time searching for network coverage (not even GRPS!)
Before this all started my connection was quite reliable and I was able to skype with my famlily and friends all over the world. Now I cannot even download my email anymore.
Is it just me or are there more people struggling in the Rooihuiskraal / Wierda park area with this?
I tried connecting at Vodaworld, and lo and behold, it works beautifully! It sure looks like vodacom 3G is intended for vodacom staff only.
