Hi there

For interest sake it would be nice to compare yearly increases if you are comfortable doing so. If you would so please also state if it the year included a promotion. Although cost of living adjustments is not really an increase per say, please include said adjustment

My last four worked out on total CTC starting at 2016
6.8, 6.3, 6.3, 14(promotion)

Should this not be part of the salary thread?

Yes it would be nice if we could aggregate industry, ctc and increases but that thread also has some drivel running, plus it's not mine to add to

My last increase was in 2016 when I moved back to an earlier employer for a 12.5% increase and before that I had two increases six months apart (20% and 10%) after a lengthy fight to have my remuneration corrected for acquiring a certification. Since then I have only had cost of living adjustments related to CPI.

True it is not an increase, but the data is still interesting to see. Would you mind to include it

Are you a drug dealer moving up in the cartel?
Haha no just working for a company that appreciates hard work and rewards accordingly. This year is my 9th year. I told them I dont want to job hop to see increases and I want to stay long term. From year 1 to 8(end) its likely been a 377% increase bonuses excluded.

2020 - still tbd
2019 - 6%
2018 - was retrenched and started at a new firm with considerably better benefits.

Want to ask my boss for an increase as I've been working lots of unpaid overtime in an overly stressful environment. Any thoughts as to what is a reasonable % to request?

At least 7%

In my >10yrs of employment I've never worked at a company that gives a damn about it's employees remuneration. Every single one would rather hire someone new at a higher cost than give a double digit increase.
