Ordered my ADSL line but waiting for Telkom to add new ports to my exchange. I have been looking around at wireless hardware. Have some questions for anyone who can help:

1. Should I buy a separate modem and router? I would prefer an all-in-one device but is that a good idea.
2. Any suggestions on which all in one devices are good buys? I am looking for a 108mbps device if possible.

I really recommend you get an all-in-one mainly because it'll save you money and secondly it looks neater and is easier to set up.

The Netgear DG834GT is an 108mbps all-in-one. Its quite popular and I had one untill in was struck by lightning. I found it had exceptional wireless range and held the ADSL connection solidly. The only problem I had was that I had to reboot it every few days because the wireless would stop working.

Netgear is really good, Dell recommend it, other brilliant brands include Planet and Linsys, both of which you can get totally integrated.

I'm using a billion 7202g and must say I'm very happy with it. It's only 54Mbps, but On a small network you really don't notice it.

I have been using the Netgear 834GT for about 6 months now without any hassles. Wireles range is excellent and the interface is brilliant. Would definately recommend this product.

:) :) :D

In my study I have a server (running XP Pro) which connects to Iburst and to a D-Link DWL2100AP access point. My main PC (running XP Pro) networks with the server via 1394 firewire. Around the house, three other pcs (running XP Home) network wirelessly via the access point. The Firewire and AP NIC are network bridged.

I can't say I didn't tear my hair out maximising wireless ranges and setting it all up... but both networking and internet connection sharing have been working flawlessly for many months now.

First post (hi, there). I'll recommend the Netgear 834GT - adsl and wireless in one. Wireless orks very well for me. Now I'm just waiting for Telkom so I can use the ADSL part.

Have a linksys wireless router, modem. Easy to set up and the interface is very simple.

i am using the linksys 354G, just start a few days ago... it seems good. easy to set up ... this is ADSL modem with a router all in one...

I have a Linksys WRT54 (lots of opensource firmware options) and billion adsl router running in bridged mode. I would suggest the seperates option mainly because of possible lightning damage....
