A. You've been holding a car for two weeks for a youngish guy who was waiting for his dad to give him the money to buy the car from you and he confirmed he will do the transfer tomorrow 13/06/2012.

B. A friend of you found out 2 days ago you're selling the car and in a haste makes a plan to get the cash and offers you a few thousand extra for the car (yes he's that desperate to buy ir from me, told me that a few minutes ago).

I'm going to go with A. simply because I made a promise to this guy and he kept his word. However should he fail to get me the money tomorrow I will have to let it go to the guy in B.

What would you have done.

The same.

If he can't do the transfer, chances are he won't, so your friend will get preference.

Business is business after all... :D

Hope you get it sold without any hassles etc.

Would also do the same, and would let the youngish man know that the car will be sold if he hasn't made the transfer tomorrow

Keep your promise and go with A, not cool to break a kid's heart :) Just keep in mind that you probably won't get your money tomorrow as it may take a few days to clear, so give him a few days beyond tomorrow.

OK, I'm glad I'm not the only one with some morals :)

I have to admit, for a moment I was tempted to go with B :D

Would be in two minds about taking extra cash from my friend though.

Yeah morals cost money

Would be in two minds about taking extra cash from my friend though.

Thinking about this again, I would not even consider selling to a friend, easiest way to ruin a friendship is by doing business with them.

Also, I wouldn't like seeing my friend drive my old car.

If A does not make the deadline then go with B. Business is business.

Just don't sell him a f'ed up Daihatsu Terios.

Good decision.
Life has a funny way of rewarding or punishing you. What goes around comes around.

If I was your friend, I would respect you even more for making such a decision. Means I can rely on your promise if I am on the other end.

il offer you double what B is offering and il do the transfer now

for a little more il have the amount in your account now as well :p

but yeah you did the right thing....unless A doesnt deliver you sell to B
