what's a good course to study part time?

some help please

i matriculated a few years ago but didn't study due to laziness and preferred to work as i got offered a job payin me between 10-15k a month, depending on my monthly gp on sales. unfortunately i did not get an exemption but i think i qualify for an age exemption by now. subjects i did and passed were, English - HG, Afrikaans - HG, Physics - SG, business economics - SG, Biology i think they just gave me some marks to pass me as i got 33,3% for it. what field can i go into with those subjects? would prefer something that will get me a job overseas or that will earn me around 20k a month here once i qualify. all advice would be highly appreciated. oh and i can only do it going to evening classes or through unisa and I am based in port elizabeth.

you cant seriously expect people to recommend something for you based on that information.

How about see what you like doing, research what career opportunities there are out there for those activities, and then look for courses based on those opportunities.
 
I would prefer to go towards renewable electrical engineering.......

What are your hopes, dreams and aspirations? What do you enjoy doing? What can you see yourself getting up each morning and doing? I did a B.Sc in Conservation Ecology at Stellenbosch Uni and have never used it, I work in the IT world, so it really depends. Once you have figured out what you would like to do, then you can figure out where to study it.
 
The job your doing now probably pays R20k.. I am sure there are people doing <you didnt say> getting 25-35k. So just earn more doing that ?


Otherwise there's plumbers, electricians, doctors, mechanics, personal assistants, "managers", waiters, waitresses, archeologists, geologists, journalists, accountants, bookkeepers, developers, designers, artists, copyrights, electronic engineers, civil engineers, aviation engineers, pilots, stewards, stewardesses, professional sports persons, strippers, prostitutes, pimps, drug dealers, tasters, micro biologists, biologists, chemists, sales reps, marketing managers, painters, landscapers, architects, riggers, stock brokers, drivers.........

Try one of those ?

+1 There's nothing more demoralizing than being in a job you have no passion for. You should get into something you're interested in. What do you enjoy doing/ are good at
 
my bad, forgot to put in what my interests are. firstly i was a car parts salesman for 5,5 years but i got bored so i opened a car wash and now i have 2. making good money at it. but the problem is, i sit and do absolutely nothing at work the entire day. i am BORED out of my mind. i've been doing pc build ups and repairs for a few years as a hobby as i enjoy it, but is there really a good scope out there for a career in it that pays well? aren't there way too many pc technicians already? i wouldn't mind becoming a pharmacist but i think you need maths as a matric subject for that
 
You sound like a good businessman, maybe try something you can apply that skill set to?
 
pc technician is a stepping stone (usually) to a career path further down the chain. Be it an exchange admin, AD admin, general admin, networking, end point etc

have you not thought on just expanding on the car wash ideas? Add a snack bar or another car wash and start expanding?
Perhaps do a general business course or degree to supplement your current endevours.
 
My SO didn't do maths nor physical sceinnce at school and his a qualified pharmacist.

Check if a bridging course isnt available.or a foundation year.i know unisa has those (or 1 of them) available. honestly.study what youre passionate about otherwise you wont finish it.

EDIT:Oh yes! check out free online courses. theres a thread here somewhere about stanford university offering free short courses.it wont count for much but you can get a free taste of what different subject areas are like.

Going to have to agree with whats been said on the other posts. Unfortunately(dont take it the wrong way) but to do a BSC you would have to do a bridging year before you get into the degree. But as I can see you're an industrious person something related to entrepreneurial management might be of some serious benefit to you. Small business etc. By the way if you have car washes and clearly theyre doing well I work for absa enterprise banking for small business's and we offer really great solutions and help for small business so if you're ever interested and your current bank isnt doing much for you give me a message would be happy to help. Look for short courses as well more practical courses UJ and wits have great courses. Hope this helps

Open another car wash. If it works, why change the recipe.
Buy a old Land Rover if you're bored...will keep you busy :D
