What's for lunch?

Actually never tried pilchards. It seems like cheese would make them taste better? Are these the ones with tomato sauce or chili?
I discovered that pilchards are just mature (or larger) sardines. Taste the same at quarter of the price. I buy lucky star and glenryk in tomato sauce and the chilli sauce one.

I prefer to rinse the tomato sauce off in a colander. Dress with a little pepper and dried dill, maybe add some mayo. The sauce spoils it a bit for me, and I do not tolerate chilli. Now thinking of it, that will then be today's lunch.

I just add a few tablespoons of one of my homemade chillis to either.

I tolerate.

Looks good but… aren’t you a vegetarian?
I was - for more than 30 years. Then covid hit and it affected my muscles. Doc suggested eating meat to help them repair - and it worked. I am now shamelessly enjoying meat again. There are things I won't eat - but most are fair game. I could not even lift a glass/mug without excruciating agony. Still have some issues but they are slowly disappearing.

And here I thought I may be able to the vegetarian thing by having eggs and yoghurt everyday.

I did - but you need to add cheese. That covid really changed my life (in more ways than just diet). But there is nothing wrong with being a lacto-ovo vegetarian. I was happy that way. But as one gets older- you have to put your health first. And I could not see myself being infirm for the years I have left. I want to travel SA - I want to climb mountains - go on hikes. And right now - I can barely climb several flights of stairs. So I made the decision I had to.

Be the vegetarian you want to be. You will know when it is time to put yourself before others. I am grateful for the meat I consume - for the way it benefits me. I think, that as long as you try and choose the kindest route - and be grateful for what you have - you are doing the best you can. Don't ever waste. Plants feel as much as animals do - just they don't move around and show it. Look we are damned no matter what we do. So do what feels right to you.

I need roosterbrood. Might just drive out somewhere to buy one for my wife and I.

I need another hobby.... Any suggestions.
