Following the success of deep fried oreos, I am doing twice fried Bananas with a Frozen Strawberry Youg toppedwith spray can whipped cream, melted lindt chocolate and a cherry from a jar in my baking kit.
Thats pudding for the kid.
Dormicums for me.
oh and if anyone cares, the main for the kid is nothing speshul. small Porkies and Veal sausages, with jacket potatoes, gravy and Koos baked beans

Chicken tortillas. Marinated chicken in lime/paprika/star anise/honey/cumin/onion/garlic/cilantro/balsamic vinegar mix. Fried and wrapped with sauteed peppers and mushrooms, chopped tomatoes, yoghurt, cheese and fresh cilantro. And corn on cob.

Oh there was a chilli in there. But my family balks at spiciness so I gotta turn down the dial for their sake.

Had a lunch dinner for my wife's birthday and the butcher recommended I use Rib Eye as I wanted something that could braai or go in the pan depending on the weather.
Never used Rib Eye before and never do marinade either and against my better judgement I opted for both.
It wasn't terrible but the little bit of balsamic, which was a third of what the 5 star recipe recommended was way too obvious and the meat was a little tough.
I have some more of the same steaks which I'll do my regular way next time to see if it was the meat or the marinade.
