My first thought when I read "hoagie" was of the phlegm and sputum at the back of one's throat.

The word is of course "loogie". You hock a loogie.

EDIT: Does anyone want a pic of that?

We all seen that when we go to mcdonalds anyway :p

I had some chicken with salad (I chowed all the chicken before i took the photo :( )

Last night I was having drinks with my neighbour so I just made some chappatis.. Rolled them up and had a bowl of woollies salsa as a dipping sauce. Simple and minimal effort.

You made it yourself?

no, got from my mother in law. my wife was quite sick monday, so she gave me a call and told me to come fetch.

my wife and i can make some pretty bad l-ass meals here, but if it involves rice we stay away. I can lie and say it's because of health reasons, but truth is we suck badly at cooking rice.

But my real question is ... are you really so hapless at cooking that you have to get your mother-in-law to supply dinners for you if your wife is ill?

Or do you just work long hours? :D

she hears my wife is ill then she phones and tells me to pick up food. good thing I did, because after work I was running around trying to pick up prescription meds. the pick 'n pay pharmacy's reputation of being useless with email continues. made me wait 15 min before telling me the script I emailed them still didn't arrive, so off I went to dischem who had in the time it took the lady to go check the mail.

only got home at 6.

Cooking rice is pretty easy, you just need to be a bit scientific about it. Here's an excellent wiki with gifs. I've always used method 4 with the joint of my forefinger length of water above the rice level:
