Kids made dinner again (Mac and I won) and it was bloody good. Had us worried with battering sounds but it was to prepare the chicken before being crumbed. Homemade mushroom sauce, chips and peas.

Pork spare ribs made from a Gordon Ramsay recipe. Normally I do them sous vide then char them a bit, but I was intrigued by the flavour of this recipe. I have decided that Sichuan Peppers make everything awesome.

Sushi. Restaurant is called Hashi in Rosebank's The Zone. Highly recommended. Their ceviche (while not absolute top class) is one of the better ceviches you will eat in SA - was absolutely delicious. And their fish is very fresh, sushi rice near perfect, and combinations of flavours superb. Not altogether cheap (dinner for two was R600 with wine and tip), but definitely worth a visit if you want good quality...

That looks incredible. Can you show me the recipe?

problem is i hate ready made stuff like that .....cant i buy few sauces to make that sauce

Yeah, don't use Woolies sauces like that.. Tried the Massaman curry paste and it had zero flavour.

Go find a Thai/Asian supermarket and buy some Thai curry paste, ad veg, flavourants, meat and some coconut milk/cream and you're good to go.

this ...i will use my lamb ribs :D

@Sam - Lamb ribs are generally a lot more fatty, so you're have to trim them down or render them down more.

wasnt bad though ...but yeah not the best

but they had sweet potato fries ..pretty good

do you just buy sweet potato, chop them up and fry them or do you boil 1st, fry and add cinnamon or something after ?

Just slice them julienne style and soak them for as long as possible, dry them thoroughly on a paper towel, and fry in plenty of spitting hot oil (say 1/2 inch deep) for 10 minutes. Forget about cinnamon.
