What's for supper?

I've got something for you to try... this potato dish was a staple in our home while I was growing up and goes down very well at a braai.

Ingredients:
Potatoes
Tumeric
Salt
Pepper
Chilli Powder
Olive Oil

Method:
Put Potatoes in microwave to cook
Remove potatoes and peel skin (do this under cold running water to prevent burning)
Mix Oil, chilli powder, salt and tumeric in a small bowl.
get a oven casserole dish
cut potatoes into thick slices (or any shape you want really)
dip potatoes in mixture, ensuring that the entire potato is covered.

Cook in oven until potatoes are golden brown and crispy on the outside.

You can throw some herbs into the mix for some extra flavour if you want.. but not too much.

Can I use Piri-Piri instead of chilli-powder? My other half is portuguese and likes to use it...

This reminds me of a couple weekends ago that he made the same one except he made it with cream instead of oil... It was yum...

Thanks, I'll try this... :)

I'm sure Piri-Piri would work as well... :) You won't be dissappointed... it's extremely tasty..

Thanks man, was actually getting sick and tired of making potato bake or potato salad. And baked potatoes is a little too boring...

Probably Durban curry, not sure exactly what yet. With the heat, I'd rather just eat a bowl of ice cream though !

On second though I might just leave my canned food for Sunday night and get myself some curry or briyani for tonight seeing it's cold.

Kom Terug Boerewors from Grobbies butchery on the bluff done on the braai, potato salad, cheese & tomato toated sarmie on the braai, yummy!
