The colloquium has come and gone, and so has November 1, and yet again... empty promises. They said "6 -8 weeks" there will be drastic change in the communication sector of South Africa, yet nothing has been mentioned thus far. Are they waiting for the very last day, then give us a huge surprise, doubt it! Probably have another colloquium to discuss the second one.

Telkom does not give a rats ass about anything its consumers say, but its day will come, just like the boys at General Motors.

So my question is, has anybody heard of any action that has taken place since the second colloquium?

I'm waiting for the 'change' too, perhaps media needs to put pressure on them cause quite frankly asside from reading itweb/news24/myadsl i never see anything on tv. Another thing is the new ceo of telkom also promised a change mid nov which is coming up, though he did not say what is coming asside from nov1 stuff. DoC looks tame and just talk more and more each day.

Dont get your hopes up

Dont get your hopes up. The Goverment and ICASA talk, and talk alot. I see the same thing every night on the 7 o clock news when these officials get interviewed. 'We are aware of the problem'....'We are are currently investigating'.......'We are working towards a speedy resolution'......'We are in the process of rolling out a new plan of action'. With this goverment its all BullSh*t.

Its all talk, and nothing EVER really gets done. Its just the answer you need to hear.

Bottom Line.. Nothing is going to change unless the goverment opens the market to foreign telecoms competitors COMPLETELY. I highly doubt the situation will improve with the SNO(and how long is that going to take?!?!?) or even a third operator.

Atleast we still have our freedom of speech, and we can b*tch and moan about it on the MYADSL forums in our small minority.

I'ts a negative outlook...but a realistic one.

A bit of bad television at prime time would go a long way.

Boys, it seems that all is quiet of the Telkom front.
And there is a good reason for it.

From the forums and media I get a distinct impression that Telkom is keeping quiet, ie. not informing their customers of new terms and conditions and the new Man on Top also keeping us waiting. Also, why would they agree to postpone the case with DOTCO (sorry if I misspelled it) 'till Dec.

In my opinion we'll see some changes this month, but hey don't keep your hopes up.
