Ello

Been out of the gaming loop for a while & just got a fancy new card and I wanna know what everyone is playing, specifically FPS online...?

I used to play BF2 but lost my cd :/ And Armed Assault wont start, I used to love that game..Other than that I played a bit of COD4 but I find the maps to be a bit small..

Im planning on buying wotevas good...

Does anyone play and of these:
Enemy Territory
Crysis 1/2
COD5
americas army
BIA - Hells Highway
Frontlines: fuels of war
Graw
 
You looking for online or single player mostly?

COD4 has the biggest following locally AFAIK.

Crysis is cool, but you'll need a monster rig to do it justice. Enemy territory failed to hold my attention.

Have you got the orange Box? Team fortress 2 is awsome, but not for everyone. The Half Life games are also great, making the orange box a very good value purchase. (if you can still find it, its about aa year old now)

Right now Im playing fallout 3 which is an rpg/fps, which I am enjoying thoroughly.

FarCry2 offers a reasonably worth while single player experience, I have yet to try the multiplayer but i hear its also good.

O yeah, sorrry I meant to mention. Im more interested in online play, dont have too much time for an RPG type game...

I have FarCry2 but I had a mission getting online, plus I only wanna download patches for games im gonna play online.

Im really interested in Hells Highway & Frontline.

I also see Operation Flashpoint2 is coming out in March...cant wait!!
 
With Frontlines, you can save your money, the game never really took off locally and I blame the fact that they never included VOIP support with the game at launch and they STILL haven't included it a year later. Its still a awesome game, play it from time to time internationally, but for local play, don't purchase it.

Enemy Territory Quake Wars, also had some good potential, but we couldn't get ranked status for our servers locally, because according to the developers of the game, our country is too small to have ranked servers. Not only that, TF2 and COD4 got released soon after it, and kill it immediately online. So save your money on this as well.TF2 is also popular locally, so it will be a good purchase too.

With regards to BF2, if you still want to play it online, its on EA's Classics range together with the BF2 Special Forces expansion for R89 at most retail outlets. COD5 aka COD:World at War I enjoy at the moment, seeing as its new, but cod4 is still popular. COD5 does have larger maps than cod4 has, at least 3 of them are really huge, not BF2 huge, but at least 2.5 bigger than the cod4 ones. It also has lots of support locally, so it would be a good buy in my opinion.

Hells Highway's mp is also a bit poo. Locally, it has no server support, and internationally pings are way too high to enjoy it. Its much more restrictive in the sense of how the game is played, I haven't played it myself, but you're much better off purchasing BF2/COD5 for that matter.

These are just my opinions that I merely expressed, you can form your own judgement based upon my opinons and check out the games themselves.
