Im looking to change my cars colour, its maroon at the moment but i want it to be blue but im not sure what they call that blue. Its a lite blue and very shiny but the thing is apparently i need the colour code or something before i can go get the paint or at least the actual name of the paint.

Have you seen it on another car? Most car company websites have the names of their colors listed on the site somewhere. You could go look there and see the name. Sometimes they even have the code for the color there too but if not most panel beater will know the code based on the name of the color.

Ok much do you think it would cost me to do a full body spray on the car?

Using PVA or model car paint? (silly joke sorry).

Um .. I have no clue. 1 panel is usally about R3000 so a whole car would be R15k to R20k I reckon.

I'm fairly sure that unless you've crashed it and ruined every panel a respray is never really worth it. How old is the car?

R15k - R30k depending on the quality of the respray job...

On a shyttigolf its not worth it... spend your money getting a real car instead.

Dammm!!! I was thinking maybe 3k lol:p and the car is not that old, its a 2008 model i just wanted a different colour thats all.

Someone actually wasted the money on a 2008 shyttigolf when they could have gotten something MUCH better...

How much did that rolling death trap set you (your parents) back?

08 Maroon? Its not that bad... keep it, besides the tsotsis only steal the common colours.... well they steal anything but I would say you better of with a non popular colour.

Dont "do it up" if you want to go and spend quite abit, try and get the Citi R kit but thats about it.

its a Shyttigolf... don't spend money on it because its wasting money..

Save the money towards getting a real car.. then spend money on doing that up if you want to... but don't be like every other idiot on the road with a shyttigolf where the wheels and sound are worth more than the car.

Yeah i thought about that to so im deciding to keep it. Thanks for the advice.

Changing the colour will also make it harder to sell in the future!

Buyers will see the original colour on the logbook, then see that the car has been resprayed and may think it was due to accident damage!
