Whats the Deal with...

Good day people.
Let me start with by saying that i hate to be the guy to complain..
But it is becoming unbearable now.

I am located in PTA east, normally i have really great latency.
Today has just been too much for me. Yesterday perfect latency.
Today its 500+.... i mean really?

Why am i experiencing great latency one day the next day my latency is
worst in the world? I just dont understand why i am spending my hard earned cash
on a network that can't give me consistent latencies? Should i be
asking for my money back?

I am sick of this.

Having the same issue as you mate. It is really worrying at how bad the network has become all over the country. There is obviously something wrong here, but dont expect a reply from them or even a fix. It's actually disgusting that a company can take your money and give such bad service.

Also today i have been having really terrible latency, up to 1000ms on speedtest.net to a server in JHB where i stay.

It is very frustrating! Unable to play games online using SA servers. I still have over a gig cap avaliable.

Its incredibly frustrating.
I also use my internet for gaming.
i am part of a clan and if i dont perform OR CANNOT i am perceived as
being unreliable. these people are useless when it comes to customer service.
The online 8ta representative has not even made an effort t post here or to inquire
what exactly the problem is or has not even suggested anything...
Useless..

Ping is currently on about 450...

Suggestions people?
Is there perhaps a better service provider?
That has reasonable prices?

So these are the results of my most recent speed test.
I sent them an email and still no response.

These people dont F#####G know what service is.
They can not even reply via email or phone to say:
Hey man the problem we are having is because so and so...
the most useless service provider there is.

I heard Cell C is really good and gives reliable speeds, is there
anybody that can confirm this?

And lastly is there any way that i can possibly get out of this
ridiculous bloody contract without having to pay the penalty fee
and hopefully still receive my connection fee and the money for my
wireless modem back?? Has Anybody here actually done this?
Please feel free to email or pm if possible.

350 mi from pretoria?

OK I can confirm Cell C is really awesome IF you have the HSPA coverage. Check their coverage map.
I've got very decent speeds from november last year, till now, whenever I've been in jhb or pretoria. Got 11Mb/s on a speedtest once. And downloaded a 550MB file in 10min... Best ping I got was 25ms to mybroadband... and it did not deteriorate after a few weeks (like 8ta) It is still going strong.
If you don't have coverage - forget about it - their EDGE only works from 00:00 to 07:00
