Okay can some informed person from Neotel Help me??

Before I went & purchased my Uncapped service I was told about the new device they were going to bring to market which we would be able to upgrade to!!!

This was told to me by the call centre as well as post net!!!

I now find there is a new product range as well!

Just last week in speaking to the neotel call centre I was told if you had your account for 3 months you could upgrade to the new device! now I have an email saying I need to pay R2500 for the new device & migrate to the new service offering!

Why in the world would I want another device??? this is just a JOKE

I am going to look at what options I have & maybe it's time to move back to telkom & pay the R500 more & know what the hell I am getting!!!

Neotel your really making the people that pay your salarys upset how are you to make in roads when your service is so bad & your story so bent!!

We might just be an home user - that does not mean we do not work in this industry & we just might be asked who we suggest & at the moment it's not you!

That's what they forget. Most people on the forum are the "IT" guys in their friends and family circle. The guys that get asked "I want internet who's the best?". By treating us badly they lose a lot more customers than just us.

You have not stated why you need a new device and from which product / package are you upgrading to?

Naturally if the product is different altogether, then you may require a new device. If you are refering to the NeoFlex Data product range then in order for you to enjoy the 3.1Mbps speeds you will be required to get a new device.

I currently have a prime product & was told as stated before we would be upgraded to the new ether device! free of charge with no mention of faster speeds just that it had ethernet?

I now see it is faster & the like which I am happy with but the promise of what I would get to what is being offered is different! & these were made by Neotel's call centre

so again what is the path for Upgrade? from Neotel Prime to the new Flex offering & lets hope uncapped comes soon!

Your options depend on what your needs are. If it's somewhat confusing, I hope this will clarify things.

The NeoConnect range (NeoConnect Lite and NeoConnect Prime) are optimum for a single-user home or small office environment, and provide voice, SMS and data on a single device.

The NeoFlex range (Neo Flex Voice and NeoFlex Data) are optimum for a multi-user office or home, and provide PBX / phone line (NeoFlex Voice) or LAN / Wireless LAN (NeoFlex Data) connectivity.

If your requirement is purely Internet, and for higher download speed (3.1 Mbps vs 2.4 Mbps), or particularly for higher upload speed (1.8 Mbps vs 153 kbps), then you can migrate from NeoConnect to NeoFlex Data. Note that there is no Uncapped option on NeoFlex Data, but caps of 10GB and 15GB are available.

There are several migration options available to you if you do want to move from NeoConnect to NeoFlex, including keeping your NeoConnect device at no cost to you, should you agree to a minimum term of commitment on your NeoFlex Data package.

If your requirement still specifically includes telephony, note that a separate NeoFlex Voice (a voice line) or NeoConnect Lite (voice and SMS telephone) device would be required, for which voice-only packages are available.

With respect to device features, the NeoFlex Data product is designed for multi-user Internet access, and has Ethernet ports and WiFi, whilst the NeoConnect devices use USB, and connect to a single computer.

If you don't specifically require the higher upload speed or different port options, then there's no need to change, especially if you really need an uncapped service.
