Hi Super Grandmaster DrJohnZoidberg. On my 4 Mbps ADSL line my actual download speed (according to speed tests) is 3,4 Mbps and my upload speed is 0,4 Mbps (410 kbps). If you half that for a 2 Mbps line, then your download speed might be 1,7 Mbps and your upload speed might be 0,2 Mbps (205 kbps).

The current upload speed on a 2Mbps ADSL line is 512kb.

It is not a fixed ratio of the download speed, and over the years has changed several times.

Down/Up:
1Mbps/512Kbps
2Mbps/512Kbps
4Mbps/512Kbps
6Mbps/512Kbps > unsure of this one's upload. I've only seen one person with this speed.
8Mbps/756Kbps
10Mbps/1Mbps
20Mbps/1Mbps

On VDSL:
20Mbps/2Mbps or 3 Mbps depending
40Mbps/4Mbps or 5 or 10 depending.

Telkom seems to be shuffling things with VDSL, best answer I can give is depends.

On OpenServe fiber it's 50% of down as up, e.g. 10/5, 20/10, 40/20, 100/50.

EDIT:
Thanks for those that rep'ed. Note that above is fast path, not interleave. If it's interleaved, add 1Mbps to the down though you might not see the speed increase, depending on the amount of error correction on your line.
