THINTA THINA - MNC = 65530
VODACOM - MNC = 65501

They are all networks on SA. For example, the SAPS network has PTT (Push to talk) support on it.

It depends which setting on your phone you were playing with.

If found under general network settings they are there among other things so you can configure which network has priority when roaming or to add an extra network. So if you had 23410 (O2-UK) before 23415 (Vodafone UK) your handset will select O2-UK in priority over Vodafone for example. Vodacom customers in general get better rates when roaming Vodafone networks so, it makes sense to ensure these are first in the list.

You can also add new networks if your SIM card has been with you for a while. i.e. A network that didn't exist when you got your SIM card.

As mentioned by Rouxenator, they also tie up with PTT use if pre-fixed 655 (SA Mobile Country Code or MCC)

Of course if you don't leave these shores or use PTT (Press To Talk), then just ignore these settings!!
