First the speed goes down a few weeks ago

now tonight im getting half the normal speed on international, and local e-mail (non sentech) and sites are timing out

Normal stuff.

It's the same with ADSL to be honest.
You get times when surfing is just terrible, downloads to international are low etc.

When I was using diginet, we'd always get called when there were network problems - ISP backbones out, or virus issues - the net is a volatile place, I got told the truth back then for the most part.

Sometimes I can't access my favourite site/s - doesn't mean it's my connection, what about the server the site is hosted on ?

I'm also on 256K and it is definitely dog slow right now. It's specific to Sentech as far as I can see - my DSL is still running normally. Getting high packet loss and latency on everything, even local - which is what seems to making browsing very slow. Funny thing though is that downloads still run fast, if not faster than usual (well, at least the first 500K anyway). The response time on everything is just extremely slow. They've definitely broken something. Sentech has been bearable for the last few months - I hope they're not reverting to the shambles of last year.

I think that this maybe related to issues at IS???

Important thing is that finally all the script kiddies and p0rn
freaks have moved to iBurst where they are out of harms way :)

Reading the iBurst forum is hilarious these days, everybody is at
each others throat, yet very few of then have shown any
ability to absorb the real problem:
For the amount of money they are paying, no ISP is going to
stay in business for very long granting high speed unlimited access.
For as long as Telkom holds the International access monopoly,
many uneducated broadband users are living in LaLa land!
