This happened several times now where items arrive unpackaged without the usual Takealot branded box.

Hopefully the courier didn't open it.
Sounds weird.

I also ordered a Hard Drive from them few years back, without any protection what so ever just a bare drive in anti static bag. Drive still works today, but will not try that again.

Scary, I wonder if its picked up directly from one of their suppliers when the stock is low

I have received several items where they simply slap their waybill on the box. Typically, it looks like a dog's breakfast when you receive it. If you want something MISB, then Takealot is not my recommended go-to.

Their inconsistencies are massive though. They will use their branded boxes to insert just one item at a time. When we replaced things stolen in a recent home burglary, their packaging was haphazard. Some things were carefully package and others woeful.

Also got a package like this. I like to keep the original box, as some stuff sells easier 2nd hand, if you have the original box. This will just put me of on buying certain stuff.

I assume that it's cost cutting. I have gotten a few packages with the waybill stuck on the original packaging.

Same deal lately, packages taped to others and not even sealed.
I had to check the contents last time before accepting.

Same here. Ordered a drive a few weeks back that was just flopping around in the box. Drive failed two weeks later. I sent it back, noting that it probably failed because of incorrect packaging.

A week later I get the replacement, again flopping loosely in a box. Touch wood it's been fine, but I took pictures this time, standing next to the delivery guy. Just for in case.

Ordered a Samsung S4 battery the other day and a few other small items. Order arrived in a massive box and some cardboard type paper stuff. No battery though. I had to phone Takealot to let them know my battery wasn't included.

Initially I thought it had fallen out of the box because it was so stupidly packed. Turns out the supplier never handed the item over... :cautious: And it was marked as missing in transit...

Woulda been real sweet if they could have let me, the customer, know instead me having to search my driveway and having to phone you twats using my precious disappearing airtime. Farkers.

Wow. This thread shows some serious issues. The CPA will be overflowing with cases if this continues.

Some here said cost cutting.
We pay for delivery. Even if it's 'free' that margin is worked in. They lose no money with packaging and delivery.

I'll monitor this thread. There's no way I would buy anything from them until this changes.
