Whats with the freaking ATMs???

Whats happening with the ATM's around Gauteng?? last night i came across about 5 ATMs that were either out of order, didnt have money, didnt have reciepts or just wasnt even on...

this morning same story at different ATM's in a completely different area??

different banks, different everything... so i cant even just 'call the bank and crap on them'.... anyone know why so many atm's are offline these days??
 
Well then the banks needs to find alternatives. Get rid of paper money all together.
 
Maybe it's TELKOM i.e. the data links are down. I know the internet is cruddy today as it was yesterday and this weekend a lot of my bank's ATM's were offline.
 
Maybe the ATM's are on strike?

everybody else in South Africa is... so why not the ATM's!

The only thing common to me has been "no receipts". Banks should not charge us the full transaction fee when there's no receipts. :mad:

Turiko, I know ABSA uses sat comms for their ATMs.

I love those! I have this number that I phone everytime I find an ATM not working, I get R100 per ATM.

Im not allowed to share the number:p

Wow! Does that include finding a hole in the wall where the ATM used to be? :D
 
hehe... I haven't been in SA for quite a few months and this thread makes everything sound so hectic!
 
SB ATM at Northgate OFFLINE.
SB ATM at Summerfields BLOWN UP!
SB ATM at Boskruin SLOW.

Oh well, I got money eventually...
